Paranormal detective Edward Carnby (Christian Slater) is trying to solve the mysterious death of one of his friends and the trail has lead him to Shadow Island. There he meets his ex-girlfriend Aline Cedrac (Tara Reid), who is an anthropologist, and the two discover that evil demons worshiped by an ancient culture are trying to come back to the 21st century to rule the world.
