Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) is a successful businessman who has a happy life with his wife Helen (Kelly Preston) and two children. But one night while driving home from his older son's hockey game, his life is turned upside down. After stopping at a gas station in a rough part of town, his son (Stuart Lafferty) is murdered by gang members and he seeks revenge against one of the punks (Matt O'Leary) with the help of the police. Things dont go the way Nick expects, so he decides to take matters into his own hands, which escalates the matter into a war between him and the gang members, led by Billy Darley (Garrett Hedlund).
