Annie Braddock (Scarlett Johansson) is a young woman who is fresh out of college that dreams of being an anthropologist, but instead ends up being a nanny for a rich family she calls "The X's". Her job is to look after Grayer (Nicholas Art), the 6 year-old son of Mr. X (Paul Giamatti) and Mrs. X (Laura Linney). She quickly learns that life isnt easy in the household as she has to cater the every whim of Mrs. X, and things get more complicated when she falls for a neighbour (Chris Evans).
