Based on a novel by Philip Pullman of the same title, set in an alternative world where talking bears fight wars and witches fly the skies. The world is dominated by the Magisterium and 12 year-old Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards) happens to be their greatest threat. So they capture her uncle (Daniel Craig) and she has to escape the clutches of Mrs. Coulter (Nicole Kidman) to set out to find her friend who has disappeared without a trace with hundreds of other children.
