DIFF 2007 Venues and People's Choice Awards
You will be able to watch the dubai film festival's films at all of its previous venues - Cinestar Cinemas (Mall of the Emirates), Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai Media City - and a new venue has been added - Grand Cineplex. Located near Garhood Bridge and Dubai Grand Hyatt, this venue will likely be the favourite for those living in Deira and Bur Dubai. And for the first time since DIFF's launch, guests will be able to vote in the People's Choice Awards to honour films in the Feature, Short and Documentary categories, by rating the films on ballots after the screenings.

Programme for Arabian Nights (Layali Arabia) Announced
The 19 films to be shown in the DIFF 2007 'Arabian Nights' segment focusing on stories related to Arabs and the Arab world have been announced, which include 4 world premieres. The segment's Gala Film will be Whatever Lola Wants, while others include Night Shadows, Ana el Akhar (Me the Other), Nafizati Bala Watan (From my Window, Without a Home), Cartouches Gauloises, Intimate Enemies, Michou D'Auber, AmericanEast, and Al-Arian. The only documentary is Ladies, Women, Citizens and the shorts include Al Ab Al-Mokhless (A Father Taken), Yasin, The Good Son, Both, Posthumous, Either Me or Haifa, Baris ala el Baher (Paris by the Sea), and Good Night Malik.

DIFF 2007 Emirati Voices Speak Out Loud
The DIFF segment previously known as 'Emerging Emiratis' has been renamed to 'Emirati Voices' and features work from UAE national filmmakers. Films in this section include I'm a Man by Shamma Abu Nawas and Sahar Al Khatib, Between Two Suns by Rehab Omar Ateeq, 100 Miles by Mustafa Abbas, Heartless by Yousef Ibrahim, Houjas by Mohammed Abdullah Al-Hammady, Stuck Face by Manal Ali Bin Amro, Ashes by Hamad al Hammadi, Al Ghobna by Talal Mahmood and Saeed Salmeen al-Murry, and The Birthday Gift.

DIFF 2007 Opens with Micheal Clayton
The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) 2007 will open its with the screening of critically acclaimed thriller "Micheal Clayton", starring actor George Clooney, who will be attend the star-studded Opening Night Gala.

Year-Round Film Screening Series
DIFF has decide to launch "The Scene: Your UAE Film Network", which is a series of monthly screenings at the DUCTAC (Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre) auditorium at the Mall of the Emirates to feature films that have not been commercially released in the UAE. It will be facilitated by UAE National filmmaker Nayla al Khaja and the first screening will be held November 30, with the screenings of Ahmed Suliman (short documentary by Waleed Al Shehhi), VHS - Kahloucha (documentary by Néjib Belkadhi) and Bawke (fictional short by Hisham Zaman).

3-Day "Rhythm and Reels" Event
The three-day event during DIFF 2007 will bring unusual and cutting-edge film together with live musical performances; the festival has introduced the open-air series at the Dubai Media City amphitheatre to celebrate the mutually enriching relationship between film and music. The first screening, to be held on December 13, 2007, for the screening of 90 Millas (90 Miles) directed by Emilio Estefan, followed by the performing of 5-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan in her first-ever performance in the Middle East. Another film to be shown in the even is Across the Universe directed by by Julie Taymor.
