DIFF 2007 Comes to an End
The curtains have closed for the Dubai International Film Festival 2007, which yesterday saw the screening of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Muhr Documentary finalists as well as the Muhr Awards features Gold, Silver and Bronze winners. It has been announced that DIFF 2008 will include a Asia/Africa Competition in the Muhr Awards for Excellence, as well as awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Script, Best Editor, Best Composer and Best Cinematography.

The Cultural Bridge Panel - DIFF 2007
Now in its second year, this event that takes place today during the Dubai Film Festival has a panel of distinguished guests who govern a forum for the discussion of issues related to cultural understanding and dialogue, and cinema as a tool for world peace. Cameron Baily, Canadian journalist broadcaster and senior programmer of the Toronto International Film Festival, will moderate the evening, while world-renowned author Paolo Coelho will present the keynote address at the event. The panelists will include Danny Glover (actor, producer and activist), Rayda Jacobs (writer, actor and debut director) and Gisele Khoury (Al Arabia journalist).

Lifetime Achievement Awards Films
Films by Dubai Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Awards winners will be showing at DIFF 2007, which includes features by Egyptian director Youssef Chahine, Bab El Hadid (Cairo Station) and Heya Fawda (Chaos), Korean director Im Kwon-taek, Chihwaseon (Drunk on Women and Poetry) and Chun nyun hack (Beyond the Years), and American actor Danny Glover, HoneyDripper and To Sleep with Anger.

DIFF Screen on the Green
Dubai Film Festival's outdoor screening series at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre will take place from December 10 to 12 at 8:00pm and admission is free. Films in the series include December 10th's Ye Yan (The Banquet), December 11th's When the Road Bends... Tales of a Gypsy Caravan and December 12th's Before the Rains.
