Muharrem (Erkan Can) has lived in his parents' house in old Istanbul and worked for his employer all his life. He is a devout Muslim, prays constantly and practices sexual abstinence. Because of this the leader of his religious order (Meray Ulgen) decides that he should become their rent collector, since they need never fear him becoming corrupt. Murharrem is moved into the seminary and begins his work. But when he uses builders who are not of their religious order to repair a roof he is both chastised and given suits, a mobile phone, a car and chauffeur. The notion that clothes maketh the man is indeed true as Murharrem becomes increasingly the traditional rent collector but, eventually, events and the hypocrisy and cynicism of the Sheikh lead him to a crisis of faith.
