Home: Dubai International Film Festival [DIFF] 2006

The annual Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is back again for its third year and will be taking place from the 10th and 17th of December 2006. The eight-day festival will be the largest year yet, with a comprehensive array of international cinema and a large line-up of Arabic films from the Gulf States, the Levant, and North Africa. In all, there are 115 films from 47 different countries at the festival, of which 38 are UAE premieres.

Dubai Film Festival 2006 Program Schedule

The DIFF program is divided into three main sections - Gala Screenings, Film Programs, and Special Events. The Gala Screenings will be held each night of the DIFF at Madinat Jumeirah and outstanding films will be shown. More About the Dubai Film Festival 2006

DIFF Muhr Awards Competition
Dubai Film Festival has opened its door to a film competition in DIFF 2006, where participating films are made by a director of Arab nationality or origin, with subject and storyline of the film reflective of the history or culture of the Arab world categorized into three categories: Features, Documentaries and Shorts. There will be Gold, Silver and Bronse winners in each category ranging between US$ 50,000 to US$ 10,000 in prize money.

DIFF 2006 Celebrity Attendants
Attendances of the Dubai Film Festival 2006 include hollywood guests Joshua Jackson (actor), Laurence Fishburne (actor), Ivana Milicevic (actress), Diane Kruger (actress), Barrie Osborne (producer), Oliver Stone (director). The bollywood guests will include Shah Rukh Khan (actor), John Abraham (actor), and Mohan Lal (actor). The arab guests will include Mahmoud Abdul Aziz, Salah Saadany (actor), Ahmed Bider (comedian), Hani Salama, Hind Sabri (actress), Mona Zaki (actress), Laila Elowi, and Mervat Amine. GCC guests will include Hayat al Fahad, Abdul Hussain Adbulredha, Saad al Faraj, Ghanem al Saleh, Mohammed al Mansour, Ghanem al Salaifi and Abdul Aziz al Jassim.
